About this Class

The perfect workshop for anybody that has ever thought trying musical/hip hop improv. Basic techniques + building the confidence to approach hip hop improv with fearless joy regardless of previous musical experience! Matt Vita is a Brooklyn, NY & VT-based comedian with well over a decade of standup, improv, and acting experience. He has opened for headliners Colin Quinn, Kevin McDonald, and Steve Hofstetter, and has appeared opposite Queen Latifa in the CBS drama series The Equalizer. He has headlined City Winery Boston, New York Comedy Club (NY/CT/NJ locations), and is an 11-year veteran of the NYC Improv community as a former house team member at The PIT and a professional improv coach/workshop facilitator. He is proud to have performed at the last-ever Del Close Marathon (DCM), previously the biggest improv fest in NYC. Matt is also the co-founder of both the Vermont Comedy Festival and Vermont Film Festival with past headliners like Tim Meadows, Colin Quinn, and Joe List, and Judy Gold. On stage, Matt is known for his relatable observations, zany energy, sharp improvisational skills, and ability to connect with diverse crowds. He is an award-winning freestyle rapper, often incorporating that skill into his sets, and has shared the stage with notable hip-hop acts such as Rahzel (of The Roots), as well as received positive reviews of his act from legends like Questlove and Cappadonna.

Cancellation Policy

Please email classes@kismetimprov.com if you need to cancel your class enrollment or space rental. If you need to withdraw from a class, you can apply your registration fee as a credit toward a future class. However, if you withdraw within 48 hours of the class start time or after the class has already started, you will not be eligible for a credit transfer.
