MONDAY July 28, 7-9 PM Unleash your stage presence with our comprehensive workshop on On-Stage Skills and Stagecraft! Perfect for performers aiming to elevate their stagecraft, this workshop is essential for those aspiring to excel in their theatrical performances and upcoming auditions at Kismet Improv. Key Tenets Covered: • Vocal Projection: Master the art of projecting your voice to ensure every word reaches the back row. • Physicality and Movement: Use your body effectively to express emotions, create characters, and enhance your performance. • Stage Presence: Develop a commanding stage presence that captivates your audience from start to finish. • Blocking and Spacing: Learn the fundamentals of stage blocking to ensure dynamic and visually engaging scenes. • Technical Awareness: Gain awareness of lighting, sound, and other technical aspects to support and elevate your performance. Who Can Join? This workshop is open to anyone intending to audition for the 2025-26 season and has completed some training in longform scenework (for example, you've completed Kismet's IMPROV 301, or equivalent elsewhere.) This session will help you take your improv to the next level and shine in every audition. Cost: This workshop is paid $10 in cash or Venmo to the instructor. Instructor: DEEJ Daniel James Shafer (DJ or deej) is a multi-talented artist who lives in Providence, Rhode Island. He is an actor, improviser, music producer, and teacher. Deej received his acting BFA with a minor in musical theater from Michigan State University. After that, he spent three years professionally living and working in Chicago, IL. He regularly performs on Kismet Improv's HOUSE PARTY in Pawtucket, performing with Hot Popsicle, The Pop Hearts and Hot Town. Deej is thrilled to have the opportunity to teach improv. He believes that early exposure to the arts can positively impact one's confidence, growth, and overall sense of self. He is eager to share his passion for the arts with everyone involved.

Cancellation Policy

Please email classes@kismetimprov.com if you need to cancel your class enrollment or space rental. If you need to withdraw from a class, you can apply your registration fee as a credit toward a future class. However, if you withdraw within 48 hours of the class start time or after the class has already started, you will not be eligible for a credit transfer.
