Join us for an immersive class that focuses on the intricacies of successful improv. Learn to find the game by being radically present, listening intently, and building collaboratively on every offer. Get out of your head and start using what's right in front of you to create hilarious, layered scenes, sharpen your natural comedic instincts, and become a more fearless improviser. What to Expect: ✨ Prerequisite: Must have completed Improv 201 or above to join. 📝 Feedback Heavy: Benefit from constructive feedback, helping you refine your skills and enhance your performance. 🚀 Engaging Exercises: Take part in activities designed to help you add depth and nuance to your scenes. We’ll work on * Starting scenes with confidence and clarity. * Making strong emotional and relationship choices. * Discovering and developing the "game" or pattern of a scene. AND importantly resting the game * Active listening and responding instead of planning ahead. * Raising stakes organically. * Avoiding common pitfalls like questioning, information dumps, conflict without purpose, teaching scenes etc. * Building scenes that can sustain themselves beyond the first minute. Don't miss this master class! Instructor: Randy Miller Randy Miller is an established improviser, coach, and teacher who trained at the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) theater in NYC. As a member of their advanced Academy Program, Randy honed his skills under the guidance of amazing coaches and gained independent training with various indie improv teams in New York. Randy has been a house performer at Kismet Improv since 2022. You can catch Randy actively performing and coaching teams at Kismet's Friday Night House Party, where he has performed with the Marquee Freeform team and coached numerous Kismet house teams, like The Void, Bear Feet, and Bananafish. Additionally, he is the producer of Kismet's storytelling show, 'The Cicada.' Beyond Kismet, Randy shares his love for improv by teaching adults with developmental disabilities at The Outsider Collective in Pawtucket, RI, and at the MAB Training and Rehabilitation Center in Westborough, MA, where he works with adults who have developmental disabilities, strokes, or other TBIs. Randy’s teaching philosophy is about trust—trusting yourself as a performer, trusting your teammates, and embracing the unknown in life and improv.
