Start your improv journey in Improv 101/201! Discover the joy of improvised scene work, unforgettable characters, and collaborative storytelling. What to Expect: ✨ Learn the fundamentals of improv in a supportive and engaging environment. ✨ Explore simple and fun improv games to boost confidence and creativity. ✨ Connect with fellow beginners and embark on an incredible journey together! This class is perfect for beginners, those who have completed Improv 101, or those with some basic improv experience. The class will review 101 concepts and ensure mastery of more advanced 201 concepts -- the building blocks of hilarious improvised scenes! Those who complete this class can move on to Improv 301. Showcase: SATURDAY Nov. 8 at 6PM Instructor: Jessie Aufiery Instructor Bio: Jessie Aufiery is a literary translator, fiction writer, and improviser with a background in stand-up comedy, all shaped by a life spent moving between diverse cultures. Growing up in Philadelphia and living in places like Lille, France; Montaldeo, Italy; New York; Paris; Miami; and Rhode Island has deepened her appreciation for the ways languages, traditions, and art forms intersect. As a translator, she focuses on bringing literature and comics to new audiences, carefully attending to the nuances of voice and cultural meaning. Her experience in stand-up and improvisation has sharpened her ability to embrace spontaneity and humor, enriching her writing and creative work with a distinctive, grounded levity. Jessie has been performing with Kismet Improv House Teams for several years, most recently on Crab Dog, Kiss of the Narwhal, and the ArcheHypes. She also teaches stand-up comedy.

Cancellation Policy

Please email classes@kismetimprov.com if you need to cancel your class enrollment or space rental. If you need to withdraw from a class, you can apply your registration fee as a credit toward a future class. However, if you withdraw within 48 hours of the class start time or after the class has already started, you will not be eligible for a credit transfer.

Our performers and teachers have trained nationwide. We proudly feature alumni from Second City, iO, Upright Citizens Brigade, ImprovBoston, Improv Asylum, Union Comedy, Wage House and the Providence Improv Guild.
